API Terms
These API Terms are an addendum to the Terms of Service between you and Top Cheddar LLC (“MoonScroll,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). They apply when you access or use the MoonScroll API at api.moonscroll.ai (the “API”). Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning in the Terms of Service. If these API Terms conflict with the Terms of Service for API use, these API Terms control for that conflict.
By creating an API token or calling the API, you agree to these API Terms, the Terms of Service, and the Privacy Policy.
1. Permitted use
Subject to your plan and these API Terms, you may use the API for authorized commercial applications, research, and analytical workflows. That includes incorporating permitted analytical outputs into your own products and internal tools.
Access to analytical outputs does not grant ownership of third-party source material (such as creator videos, captions, or other platform content). Original creators and other rights holders retain their applicable rights. You are responsible for ensuring you have appropriate rights when you reproduce or publish third-party content.
These API Terms do not grant unrestricted sublicensing rights to externally sourced datasets.
2. Redistribution
Within the limits of your plan and applicable law, you may:
- Incorporate permitted analytical outputs into your applications and workflows
- Display appropriately attributed information returned by the API (for example, source URLs or usernames when provided)
You may not, without our written permission:
- Redistribute raw third-party source data obtained through MoonScroll as a standalone or competing data feed
- Offer bulk exports or resale of MoonScroll’s non-public datasets or API responses in a way that substitutes for the Service
- Republish copyrighted third-party content without appropriate rights
If you need broader redistribution rights for a specific use case, contact [email protected].
3. Authentication
The API authenticates requests with a bearer API token issued in your MoonScroll account settings (Authorization: Bearer <token>). Tokens may be scoped to an account, project, or brand.
You are responsible for protecting credentials and for all activity under your tokens. Do not share tokens publicly or embed them in client-side code where they can be extracted. If a token is compromised, revoke it in account settings and notify us at [email protected].
4. Credits, quotas, and rate limits
API access is available on plans that include it. Rolling 30-day API request allowances and other limits are shown in the product and on the pricing page. Requests that exceed your 30-day allowance or that come from a plan without API access may be rejected.
The API is also rate-limited (currently 60 requests per minute per token). We may adjust rate limits to protect the Service. Circumventing quotas or rate limits is prohibited.
Some operations may involve third-party processing (for example, AI generation). Usage and cost characteristics can differ by endpoint. We do not invent separate credit expiration or refund rules beyond what your plan and applicable law provide.
5. External data availability
Upstream providers and source platforms can change their systems or restrict access. MoonScroll does not guarantee continued availability of any specific creator, post, metric, or feature that depends on external data. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue affected API functionality in accordance with the Terms of Service.
AI-generated recommendations and analytical scores are informational only and do not guarantee outcomes. See also Data Sources & Content Removal.
6. Third-party applications
You may authorize other applications to access MoonScroll through supported integrations by providing API credentials or other access mechanisms we support. Those applications operate under their own terms and privacy practices. MoonScroll is not responsible for how an independently operated third-party application uses data it retrieves with your credentials.
Information retrieved by such an application may be subject to that application’s privacy practices. Choose carefully which applications you authorize.
7. Attribution and source rights
Original creators and other rights holders retain their rights in source content. Source URLs and attribution may accompany returned information. Where the API returns attribution fields or links, leave them intact when you display that information in a way that would reasonably call for credit. You must comply with any applicable attribution or platform obligations that apply to your use of third-party content.
8. Acceptable use
The acceptable-use rules in the Terms of Service apply to the API. In particular, do not use the API for unlawful surveillance or harassment, to access private information without authorization, to infringe third-party rights, or to abuse credentials.
9. Changes and contact
We may update these API Terms by posting a new version on this page and updating the date above. Continued use of the API after a change means you accept the updated API Terms.
